with its 4,071 meters of altitude, is the third highest peak in Morocco after Jebel Toubkal (4,167 meters) and Jebel Ouanoukrim (4,089 meters at Timzguida).
Located in the central part of the High Atlas, south of the upper 'happy valley' of Aït Goumenez and north of the valley of roses, the Mgoun massif is essentially made of hard limestone rocks.
The Mgoun offers many opportunities for excursions within a preserved area. The natural setting is impressive: the slopes in limestone rocks form amazing slopes where erosion has etched the peaks and beautiful gorges with orange garnets.
